The funeral ended Jaya Lalitha

There are many people around the world who follow religious beliefs. And with each individual according to their beliefs are the person dies, the funeral. The main two. Bake for one's body. The Allied line. Either of these functions are performed in a manner that the dead man's body. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, but she should be burned to the fact that, according to tradition. But in the manner that she is buried. Her body is buried. Do you know why ..?

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa are Brahmin family. Iyengar's name, she regularly worn on the forehead. This is consistent with the beliefs of the community, but in order for her to be cremated her body. Eaiedienke party sources rather decided to be buried in her body. ..

. In the past, most of those killed in the Tamil Nadu leaders would fill. By doing so close to their fans, and the feeling is. Once MGR died, he buried the body. His tomb is still the order of the noise coming from the clock tick will be, Manna. And to bury the dead in the sense that they were yet to get their possession.

That is why so many leaders are pudcipedutu.Another reason is the fact that the body buried kalcakunda Jaya Jaya ... personally caste Brahmin family, she does not belong to whichever party, not religion, is the same for everyone, Mom. He buried her body. Finally, another reason ... Jaya talakorivi put the body to burn someone she should have a blood relative. But no one lerata (brother's daughter, Jaya is that the lamp, but so far she is not allowed to Jaya, the media also showed that she was not matladaniyadam). Because the body can not be burned to the Jaya pudustunnaru

Jayalalithaa funeral sees two departures from tradition

CHENNAI: The funeral ceremony of Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday was a departure from tradition in two aspects. First, Jayalalithaa's body was buried instead of being cremated, going against Vaishnavite Brahminical tradition. Second, her friend Sasikalaa Natarajan, who was handed the national flag after the coffin was closed, led the former chief minister's nephew Deepak Jayakumar in performing the final rites. In Hindu customs, women are not allowed to perform final rites.

The feeling that pervaded the air around MGR Memorial was more ceremonious than grieving. The endgame came at 6.05pm as four men dutifully hammered nails into the coffin. Wreaths and salutations had been offered and the mortal remains of the AIADMK's talisman was about to be lowered into a pit.

The wails were largely missing. Anjulakshmi, a former AIADMK city corporation councilor, and a TV celebrity couple, Ganeshkar and Harathi Ravi, were the notable exceptions as they sobbed inconsolably.

Jayalalithaa's successor, O Panneerselvam, appeared to not have shaken off the shock of his leader's demise. He walked barefoot, quietly taking measured strides behind Sasikalaa, as the latter led her family to a makeshift stage. VN Sudhakaran, Jayalalithaa's once foster son and Sasikalaa's nephew, was present in the entourage.

It was Sudhakaran's ceremonious wedding in 1995 that brought disrepute and jail time to Jayalalithaa. On Tuesday, Sudhakaran preferred to sit back and remained on the dais instead letting Jayalalithaa's nephew take centre stage.

Earlier, it was all hustle and bustle at the burial site a few hours before the start of the funeral procession from Rajaji Hall, where Jayalalithaa's body was kept for public viewing. Greater Chennai Corporation commissioner D Karthikeyan was supervising the on-site preparations. A few attendees had already taken their seats at 3pm, notably including former city mayor Saidai S Duraisamy and Rajya Sabha MP V Maitreyan.

Outside the venue, crowd had begun to swell. Barricades set up to prevent party cadre from barging in was proving only just enough. Some who attempted to scale the memorial's wall were greeted with lathicharge from cops on duty. But people found a way around the obstacles. They scaled everything in sight, be it the Labour Statue or the roof of the Anna swimming pool beside the memorial, and perched atop the highest vantage point for a best view of the proceedings.

Soon, Union ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Pon Radhakrishnan arrived. A little after 4 pm, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi walked in flanked by Ghulam Nabi Azad and state Congress president Su Thirunavukkarasar on either side. Governor Vidyasagar Rao arrived at 4.40 pm.

After the coffin was lowered into the pit, chaos ensued as the cops lost control. Police personnel of the Tamil Nadu Home Guards left their stations and converged at the burial site. Many among them wanted a part of the history for themselves as they shot videos and clicked selfies, leading to disruption of the burial. The scene turned into one where cops had to battle their own kind in order to afford the late AIADMK chief privacy as she rested six foot under.

cinema actress and tamila nadu cm Jayalalithaa is no more

Her mortal remains will be kept in state at the historic Rajaji Hall on Tuesday to enable the public to pay homage.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is no more. Seventy-four days after being admitted to Apollo Hospitals here, the general secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam passed away at 11.30 p.m. on Monday. She did not respond to emergency life support treatment administered after she suffered a cardiac arrest a day earlier. She was 68.

Late in the night, her body was taken to ‘Veda Nilayam’, her residence in Poes Garden in the heart of Chennai. Officials said her mortal remains would be kept in state at the historic Rajaji Hall on Tuesday to enable the public to pay homage.

An hour before the announcement about her death was made, the police strength outside the Apollo Hospitals was increased and the route from the hospital to her residence was cleared for traffic. Security personnel took position outside in good measure.

Around midnight, Sasikala Natarajan, her trusted aide of over 30 years, who was by her side since the time Jayalalithaa was admitted on September 22, left the Apollo Hospitals for Poes Garden.

Jayalalithaa was one of the country’s most articulate and determined political personalities and a top film actress of the 1960s and 1970s. She showed enormous resolve in fighting one obstacle after another since the time she stepped into the world of politics in June 1982, under the mentorship of Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran (MGR), the founder of the AIADMK and her lead co-star in 28 Tamil films.

Scenes of sorrow

The death plunged the State and the party into grief. AIADMK cadres and other members of the public who had massed outside the hospital wailed inconsolably, beating their chests, as the news was announced after weeks of anxiety, which peaked on Monday. The State declared a seven-day mourning and a holiday for educational institutions for three days. The national flag and the AIADMK flag would be flown at half-mast as a mark of mourning.

Announcing her death shortly after midnight in a bulletin, the Apollo Hospitals referred to the cardiac arrest she suffered on the evening of December 4 “even while our intensivist was in her room”. It added: “Despite our best efforts, the Honourable Chief Minister’s underlying conditions rendered her unable to recover and she passed away at 11.30 p.m. today.”

On November 13, Jayalalithaa was moved to a private room after she miraculously battled multiple health complications.

A one-time propaganda secretary of the party and a former Rajya Sabha member, Jayalalithaa steered the AIADMK since 1989 when the party, which had split into two following MGR’s death in December 1987, reunited under her stewardship. In the last six years, the political fortunes of the AIADMK soared to a new high, with Jayalalithaa leading it to back-to-back victories in the 2011 Assembly elections, local body polls, the 2014 Parliamentary polls and the last Assembly elections in May 2016.

Since 2011, Jayalalithaa had launched several public welfare schemes doling out numerous freebies under the ‘Brand Amma’, such as launching the Amma Unavagam (canteen), Amma Water, Amma Salt — winning accolades nationally and endearing herself to the masses.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa passes away after a cardiac arrest

After an uncertainty-filled 75 days in hospital, and a tense final 24 hours, chief minister J jayalalitha tamilnadu , Amma to millions of Tamils and godmother to legions of  aidmk cadres, was declared dead close to midnight of Monday by  apollo hospital . She was 68.

A popular and prolific filmstar, Jayalalithaa+ went on to become a four-term and six-time chief minister — she had to step down in 2001 and 2014 following court judgments+ in corruption-related cases, but was subsequently acquitted and re-instated. She is only the second CM in almost 30 years, besides J&K's Mufti, to die of natural causes while still in office.

"It is with indescribable grief we announce the sad demise of our esteemed honourable chief minister of Tamil Nadu Puratchithalavi Amma at 11.30pm today," a midnight statement from the hospital said. The state has announced seven days' mourning.

Even as a convoy was standing by at the hospital gates to take Jayalalithaa's body to her  poes garden residence Veda Nilayam, AIADMK legislators met at the party headquarters to elect finance minister O Panneerselvam as the successor

Jayalalithaa was taken to Apollo Hospitals on September 22 after she collapsed of respiratory distress at her Poes Garden residence late that evening. Initial reports from the hospital said she was brought in with fever and dehydration, and doctors soon diagnosed sepsis, a life-threatening infection that spreads in the blood, as the underlying reason. Intensive treatment provided by a team of experts succeeded in reviving her to an extent.

Just when it appeared that she had overcome the worst, she suffered a cardiac arrest around 4pm on Sunday+ . Since then, there was little hope.

The past 24 hours witnessed considerable anxiety, tension and uncertainty across the state. While millions spent a sleepless night and a day with prayers, the AIADMK readied itself for the eventuality and elected OPS as the legislature party leader.

Around 6pm, a few Tamil television channels reported that the chief minister had died, sending Jayalalithaa followers into despair and a few hundreds in front of the Apollo Hospitals into fury. They broke police barricades and threw stones; police resorted to mild force. Soon, Apollo Hospitals put out a statement saying Jayalalithaa was still on life-support, forcing the channels to retract the news.

At the AIADMK head quarters, the party flag which was at half-mast after the news broke, fluttered high again.

Shops downed shutters by early. The doctors, however, refused to give up. "She hasn't woken up after the cardiac arrest," a doctor told TOI. "But we are hopeful."

Dr Richard Beale, the in early afternoon, vehicles went off the roads, and schools, colleges and offices called it a day tensivist who flew in from London several times to treat Jayalalithaa, said: "Unfortunately and in spite of the progress she had made, her underlying health condition inevitably meant that the risk of further problems always remained ...The situation is grave,

but I can confirm that everything possible is being done to give her the best chance of surviving this shocking event." Apollo Hospitals executive director Sangita Reddy tweeted around 2.45pm: "Despite our best efforts, our beloved CM remains in a grave situation." Four specialists from AIIMS, Delhi were assisting Apollo doctors till late in the evening when the CM remained on life support systems for the heart, lungs and kidneys.

A team of doctors finally pronounced her dead at 11.30pm.

legends of dusshera sindoor fest

Dussehra or Dasara is the final day of the joyous Navratri festival. As with most other Indian festivals, Dussehra also has its origin in various myths and legends that are mostly derived from the sacred Indian texts and scriptures. Know about some of the most popular legends commonly associated with Dussehra . If you want to share them with your friends and relations, just click here and send this page to them. Join into the Dussehra celebrations with TheHolidaySpot and have a wonderful time with your dear ones.

The history of Dussehra is an ancient one and derives its origin from a number of popular legends found in the scriptures.

According to popular belief, Dussehra celebrates the victory of Goddess Durga over the wicked demon Mahishasura who, according to legend, belonged to Mysore. The history of the festival has its origin in a puranic story concerning the killing of Mahishasura (Bandasura who took the form of a buffalo) and his comrades Chanda and Munda by Goddess Kali. The fight went on for nine days and nights and on the tenth day Goddess Kali killed them near the hill. Hence, Kali came to be known as Chamundeshwari and the hill where the demons were killed as the Chamundi Hill, sacred to the deity. Chamundeshwari is the family deity of the royal family of Mysore and is sacred to the Rajas and the people of Mysore. The Royal family of Mysore worships Chamundeshwari

with great fervour. The word Mysore is said to be derived from Mahishur. The festival commences with puja(worship service) to the deity. Celebrated by the royal family of Mysore, Dussehra has become an important State festival of Karnataka.

Dussehra also has its roots in the Indian epic 'Ramayana'. It is widely held that the festival actually commemorates the killing of the great demon king of Lanka, Ravan, by Lord Rama. The epic mentions how Lord Rama, the god-incarnate, went to serve a period of exile for 14 years under the order of his father. Along with his devoted wife Sita and his faithful brother Lakshmana, Rama faced many hardships during this period prominent among which was the abduction of Sita by the ten-headed Ravana. On a similar day as Dussehra in Satyug, Ram (the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu), is said to have killed Ravan, who had abducted his wife Sita. With brother Lakshman, follower Hanuman, and an army of monkeys on his side Rama fought a great battle for ten days to rescue his wife. Since then, the observance of Dussehra is more in admiration of Lord Rama than Goddess Durga. The word "Dussehra" can also be interpreted as "Dasa-Hara", which stands for the cutting of the ten heads of Ravana by Lord Rama. Dussehra is celebrated by many people of Northern India to commemorate this victory of Lord Rama.

The origin of Dussehra can also be traced to the other great Hindu epic Mahabharata. According to the Mahabharat, in the thirteenth year of their exile, the Pandavas had to live in complete concealment and Arjuna the Pandav prince, disguised himself as a eunuch called Brihannala. So he hid his celestial weapons in a Vanni tree(or Shami tree). After a year, when the period of concealment was over, he retrieved his weapons on the day of Dussehra and the Pandava brothers worshipped the weapons along with the Vanni tree. Thus, the Vanni tree became sacred to the Pandavas and the Maharaja of Mysore who traces descent from them also reveres the Vanni tree. In Mysore the Vanni tree is worshipped with the observance of many sacred rituals.

According to another legend, the festival is linked to a young Brahmin boy Kautsa. Kautsa, the young son of a Brahmin named Devdatt, was living in the city of Paithan. After studying under the tutelage of Rishi(sage) Varatantu, Kautsa insisted that his guru accept his gurudakshina(the voluntary fee or gift offered in olden days by a Hindu disciple to his guru at the end of his

training). Initially Varatantu refused but to test his disciple he later asked for 140 million gold coins, one hundred million for each of the subjects he taught. The obedient student went to the ruler of the land, King Raghu, to ask for the money. King Raghu was famous for his generosity, but when he heard the demand of his subject he fell into deep thinking because just a while ago he had emptied all his coffers on the Brahmins, after performing the Vishvajit sacrifice. He asked Kautsa to give him three days’ time. He immediately left to get the gold coins from Lord Indra. Lord Indra summoned Kuber, the god of wealth, and told him to make a shower of gold coins on the “Shanu” and “Aapati” trees round King Raghu’s city of Ayodhya. This is what Kuber did and after presenting the promised amount to his tutor, Kautsa distributed the rest of the coins among the poor people on the day of Dussehra. In Ayodhya, this great event is still observed with the people looting the leaves of the apati trees and presenting them to each other as “sone” (gold).

India is a vast multicultural land and hence, the celebration of any festival in the country differs from region to region. And this holds true for Dusshera as well. Know how Dusshera , the tenth and final day of the Navratri festival is celebrated across different parts of India. If you like this informative article on Celebration of Dusshera just click here and refer this page to your friends and near ones. Celebrate a wonderful Dusshera with your loved ones. Happy Dusshera!

Dusshera or Dasara or Vijaya Dashmi is one of the most popular Hindu festivals celebrated with great enthusiasm across India. As the time of its observance marks the close of the monsoon season, it is naturally a time for the recommencement of joyful festivals of all kinds. In many Indian states, Dusshera is the main festival. Though the occassion is celebrated everywhere across the country, it is celebrated with greater fanfare in places like Kullu in Himachal Pradesh, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, Mysore in Karnataka and in West Bengal. It is the climax of nine day long festivities during the Navaratri.

In Varanasi, Dusshera is celebrated in a sacred and joyous manner. The killing of Ravana by Lord Rama is enacted here in a beautiful way by local actors. Huge effigies of the ten-headed Ravana, his brother Kumbhakarna and his son Meghnada are placed in open spaces. A little distance away an enclosure is made which represents Lanka(Ceylon), Ravana's kingdom. Here the principal events of the rescue of Sita by Rama, as recorded in the Ramayana, are acted. Little boys dress up to play the parts of the other characters like the monkey soldiers of Ramachandra and of course,

Hanuman the monkey-general. After the effigies have been set up, local actors dressed as Lord Rama, his consort Sita and his brother Lakshman arrive. The actor dressed as Lord Rama shoots an arrow of fire at the navel of Ravana which also serves to burn the other effigies, all of which are stuffed with explosive material. As the huge structures burn with deafening blasts, shouts of merriment and triumph arise from the spectators.

Thereupon, Lord Rama rescues his consort Sitadevi and carries her off in a chariot with further applause. With the burning of the effigies, the assembled people are asked to burn the evil within them, and thus follow the path of virtue and goodness, bearing in mind the example of Ravan, who was destroyed for his evil ways despite having might and monarchy. Fairs are usually held on this occasion with lots to eat, buy and enjoy. Similar celebrations take place annually in other parts of North India on the Dusshera day.

In the southern, eastern and western parts of India, the festival of Navaratri culminates with Dusshera and commemorates the legend of the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura. The vanquishing of Mahishasura is believed to have occured near the present day city of Mysore in Karnataka.

Dusshera is nowhere celebrated in as grand a manner as in Mysore. The south Indian city of Mysore is synonymous with its annual Dusshera procession. In Mysore, Dusshera is popularly known as Dasara and the celebrations date since about 300 years ago when Raja Wodayar came to the throne of Mysore.

He celebrated the festival on a royal scale, and after him, year after year the Dasara has gained in splendour, entertainment and attractiveness. The royal family of Mysore worships Goddess Durga as Devi Chamundeshwari, their patron Goddess. After weeks of feverish preparations, a spectacular procession of floats, entertainers, and elephant wends its way through the streets of the city, complete with the erstwhile scion of the Mysore royal family astride an elephant.

In South India, Dusshera is also the time when little children are ceremonially initiated into the learning of alphabets, a ritual known as Vidyarambha. In West Bengal, it is known as Vijaya Dashami and is an occassion when friends and relatives exchange visits thus building up an atmosphere of cordiality.

For artisans across North India, it is the time to polish the instruments of their profession. Many people use this time as an opportunity to clean, plaster and whitewash their houses and generally put things in order.

In the rural areas, figurines of Goddess Durga are made out of cowdung. These are decorated beautifully and placed on the walls of houses. When the idols dry up, offerings are made and barley is sown before them. On the eighth or ninth day the idols are thrown into a river or pond accompanied by jayaddhani (victory-cries).

In Kullu, the capital town of the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh, Dusshera witnesses exuberant festivities for one whole week. The history of Kullu Dusshera dates back to the 17th century when the local King Jaganand brought an idol of Lord Raghunath from Ayodhya and installed it on his throne as a mark of penance. After this Lord Raghunath came to be known as the ruling deity of the Kullu Valley. The Dusshera celebrations of Kullu commence nearly ten days in advance. The week-long festivities come to an end with the sacrifice of a buffalo, a rooster, a lamb, a fish and a crab.

The Dusshera day is regarded as an auspicious occassion to launch new ventures. It has also always been special to the military classes, who consider it auspicious to set out on an expedition just after the festival.

According to popular belief, Dussehra celebrates the victory of Goddess Durga over the wicked demon Mahishasura who, according to legend, belonged to Mysore. The south Indian city of Mysore is synonymous with its annual Dussehra procession. In Mysore, Dussehra is popularly known as Dasara. The Dasara celebrations date from the beginning of the 17th century, when Raja Wodayar came to the throne of Mysore. He celebrated the festival on a royal scale, and after him, year after year the Dasara has gained in splendour, entertainment and attractiveness.

The origin of Dussehra also has its roots in the Indian epic 'Ramayana'.
