Jayalalithaa lost 1996 election because of me, Rajinikanth says

  • Rajinikanth's denouncement of Jayalalithaa during the 1996 election led to her defeat, the actor said
  • He was speaking at a condolence meet for the late Jayalalithaa
  • He added that he was pleasantly surprised that Jaya participated in his daughter's wedding

Rajinikanth's denouncement of J Jayalalithaa and her politics during the 1996 tamilnaduassembly election campaign caused her distress and defeat, actor Rajnikanth said on Sunday.

Speaking at a condolence meet for the late former Tamil Nadu chief minister+ organised by the Nadigar sangam (South Indian Artists' Association), the veteran actor said his campaign speech ensured AIADMK's defeat in 1996. "She was distressed because of my words. I was one of the main reasons why she lost in 1996," he said.

The superstar had famously said back then, "If Jayalalithaa is voted back to power, even God cannot save Tamil Nadu."

This BPO Employee Posed As A Beggar To See How Much They Earn In A Day. You’ll Be Surprised

Apart from corruption, India’s biggest issues include poverty. Povery is a curse to Indian economic growth. Due to the vast gap between rich and poor, many still live below the poverty line, and they are forced to survive on begging.
Mumbai is famously known as the slum city because not only the poor, but even people earning good amount of money also can not afford good accommodation there.

We see many beggars on footpaths, traffic signals and outside temples, and out of pity we offer them food, or clothes, or money. But the fact of which we still are not aware is, begging has now become a business.
A beggar named Bharat Jain must be familiar to you. His monthly earning and bank balance is probably more than yours! Apart from owning two apartments worth 70 lakh each, he also own a juice shop which he has given on rent and its monthly rent is 10k.
So the main problem here is, the beggars whom you consider poor are actually not poor. Poverty is there, but begging has become a business. They work in gangs and each gang is led by a leader who operates the business. Each beggar is to handover his takings to the gang leader.
When you give money to beggars, it encourages the business of mafias. Your random act of kindness supports an underground business!
In order to find out how much a beggar earns each day, some peeps from Indi Viral carried out a social experiment. They decided to make a BPO guy pose as beggar. He earns 15k monthly, so how much do you think he would have earned by begging?
See the video below and find out how much he earned within just two hours!

new Rs 100 notes from RBI soon, older notes to continue! and new RS 1000 notes !

The  (RBI) will shortly issue Rs 100 denomination banknotes, with some changes on both sides of the note, an official statement said here on Tuesday.

However, the old notes of this denomination will continue to be legal tender, it added.

"The Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue Rs 100denomination bank notes in the Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005, without inset letter in both the numbering panels, bearing the signature of Urjit R Patel, governor, Reserve Bank of India, and the year of printing '2016' printed on the reverse of the bank note," the statement said.

The design of these bank notes to be issued now is similar in all respects to the Rs 100 bank notes in Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005 issued earlier having ascending size of numerals in the number panels, bleed lines, and enlarged identification mark, on the obverse.

"Reserve Bank of India had also issued Rs 100 denomination bank notes with the ascending size of numerals in the number panels but without bleed lines and enlarged identification mark. These bank notes will remain in circulation concomitantly with the bank notes being issued now," the statement added.

Mukesh Ambani’s Awesome Reply To A Girl Looking For Rich Husband/!/!

The concept of gold diggers is not new to the world. Many cute girls prefer to go to a very rich guy rather than the one who loves and cares for her. Just like this one girl who posted on a popular forum about how she wishes to get married to a rich guy only..
These kind of things make people stereotype women to be gold diggers. But Mukesh Ambani did something to make them revise their wishes and turn their focus to something more sensible. Check the story out.

What should I do to marry a rich guy?
I’m going to be honest of what I’m going to say here.
I’m 25 this year. I’m very pretty, have style and good taste. I wish to marry a guy with 100 crore annual salary or above...

You might say that I’m greedy, but an annual salary 2 crore is considered only as middle class now days..
My requirement is not high. Is there anyone in this forum who has an income of 100 crore annual salary? Are you all married?.
I wanted to ask: what should I do to marry rich persons like you?
Among those I’ve dated, the richest is 50 crore annual income, and it seems that this is my upper limit.
If someone is going to move into high cost residential area on the west of New York City Garden(?), 50 crore annual income is not enough.
I’m here humbly to ask a few questions:..

Cricket :virat kohli 147*,murali vijay 136, india 451/7,england 400, 3rd day test match..!

The Wankhede Stadium filled up over 19000 seats on Saturday (December 10) with a singular hope of watching India's latest superstar, Virat Kohli, perform in the skin. A good majority of them had to rush to their seats as the India required their captain's services as early as the third ball of the day's play. Seven hours and 241 balls and later, Kohli walked back to the dressing room to a raucous ovation and handshakes from the game's other participants, having accumulated 147 of the classiest runs as India emphatically marched into control of the fourth Test with a 51-run lead.

Kohli received able support from Murali Vijay, who dispelled any concerns about his form and technique, with a typically eye-catching 136. After the early loss of Cheteshwar Pujara, the duo led an admirable counter-attack that helped the hosts offset a middle-order wobble and still move into the ascendancy.
On a day in which Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali combined to bowl 61 overs on a spin-conducive pitch, it was the seamer Jake Ball, who set India back early. Pujara shouldered arms to a Jake Ball inswinger and was out bowled - for the 17th time in his relatively short Test career.

After ducking under England's attempts to bounce him out, Kohli peppered the vacant third-man region with a succession of fours. Moeen, bowling from the other end, was launched over head for a six by Vijay and just like that India had seamlessly shifted the pressure back on England with the pair adding 43 in the first 11 overs of play. Ben Stokes came on to replace Ball when fielders slowly moved past the inner circles into more boundary-rope hugging positions. That opened up the field for Kohli and Vijay to pinch singles on either side of the wicket, which they did with great efficacy to keep the partnership going.

The duo added 101 in the opening session with Vijay completing his eighth Test century. But like in any riveting contest, the tide turned in the post-lunch session as realisation dawned upon the spinners that the Wankhede pitch was an ally. But like at Mohali, India's slide started with an innocuous Rashid delivery that Vijay drilled straight back at the bowler. England then denied Kohli the boundaries as they got to work with an inexperienced middle-order with their spin attack. After Moeen trapped Karun Nair (13) in front of his stumps, Joe Root fancied a bowl and instantly reaped rewards in the form of Parthiv Patel (15) and Ravichandran Ashwin (0). In just over an hour, India went from 262 for 2 to 307 for 6, still trailing England by 93.

Just when the first innings lead seemed a distant possibility, the arrival of Ravindra Jadeja turned the tide once more. Fatigue got to Rashid as he offered a slew of short-pitched deliveries, allowing both Kohli and Jadeja the freedom to pick up boundaries. In a small period of play before Tea, the deficit had been reduced to 52.
Jadeja fell after Tea for an entertaining 25 with India still some distance away from achieving first innings parity. But Jayant Yadav brought much-needed calm after the

Jadeja storm and that was enough for Kohli to move on to his 15th Test century and then orchestrate a final session milking of the England attack. Cook delayed the use of the second new ball until midway through the 130th over but given his team's abject fielding - Vijay survived a stumping chance on 45, Kohli was dropped by Rashid on 68 and Jayant off the third delivery with the second new ball - England had little hopes of denying India.

Jayant meandered along to 30 in an 87-run stand with Kohli as the Indian captain, having played the situation all along, allowed himself the luxury of some showboating. He did however ensure he hung around until the end to make England dread the prospect of the final two days on a wicket that should entice Ashwin & Co.
Brief scores: England 400 (Keaton Jennings 112, Jos Buttler 76; Ravichandran Ashwin 6-112, Ravindra Jadeja 4-109) trail India 451/7 (Virat Kohli 147*, Murali Vijay 136; Joe Root 2-18, Moeen Ali 2-139) by 51 run

Bulk cash seizures rise: Rs 31.06 crore in new notes seized in 4 separate incidents

Rs 5.7 crore cash in new notes seized from bathroom of a hawala dealer in K'taka
Rs 65 lakh of new currency recovered from Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Hyderabad
Rs 24 crore in Rs 2000 denomination notes seized from a van in Vellore
Rs 71 lakh in new Rs 2,000

BENGALURU/CHENNAI: Bulk seizures of new currency rose on Saturday with four more incidents being reported including one in which the Income Tax (I-T) department recovered Rs 5.7 crore cash in new notes secretly stashed inside the bathroom+ tiles of a hawala dealer in Chitradurga district in Karnataka.

A fresh seizure of Rs 24 crore cash in new notes was also made by the I-T department, adding to the biggest haul of cash and gold post- demonetisation, in which over Rs 142 crore unaccounted assets have been recovered in tax operations so far in Chennai.

In another incident, CBI recovered Rs 65 lakh of new currency in 2000 denomination from the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Hyderabad in connection with its probe in the note exchange racket.

Another seizure of Rs 82 lakh, including Rs 71 lakh in new Rs 2,000 currency, was made at Kothur near Hyderabad.

The cash was seized during vehicle checking at Kothur on Friday, the cops said.

Two persons, allegedly involved in exchange of money on a commission basis, were also nabbed by the police.

Officials while giving details of the incident in Karnataka said the I-T department seized the alleged undisclosed assets, as part of its raids against black money hoarders post-demonetisation, from the residence of the said hawala operator who is yet to be identified.

The Challakere town, about 40 km from district headquarters of Chitradurga, is popularly known as the 'oil city' due to number of edible oil mills being present there.

Officials said the taxman raided the premises based on intelligence inputs about the presence of huge cash and the sleuths were startled to find a cleverly-hidden stainless steel safe, above the wash basin, inside the tiled walls of the bathroom.

The cash stash of Rs 5.7 crore, all in new Rs 2,000 notes, 28 kg of bullion (gold biscuits), 4 kg of other gold and jewellery was stuffed inside this bathroom safe, which was kept sanitised against termites using hundreds of mothballs.

The assets were recovered after the department's investigation wing in Panaji on Friday began searches against casino and bullion traders in Hubballi and Chitradurga districts.

A good number of documents and another Rs 90 lakh cash (Rs 100/20 notes) have been seized after the searches on the said hawala dealer, they said.

"The searches in this case are still going on at various places and the valuation of the bullion and jewellery is being conducted," they said.

Regarding the incident in Tamil Nadu, Officials said the fresh seizure of new currency, in Rs 2000 notes, was made by the sleuths from a car in Vellore on the insistence of the accused presently being interrogated in the case.

With this amount, the total seizure in the case has now gone upto Rs 166 crore in a single case.

department had seized Rs 142 crore undisclosed assets - that includes about Rs 10 crore in new notes and gold bars weighing 127 kg -- during searches at multiple locations in Chennai, for the last two days, to check tax evasion.

This largest seizure of new currency notes after the old Rs 500/1,000 notes were scrapped on November 8, took place after raids were launched on Thursday on eight premises of a group engaged in sand mining in Tamil Nadu.

In a statement, the CBI said K Sudheer Babu, the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, had kept the amount of Rs 65 lakh as his commission for allegedly exchanging over Rs 3.75 crore of old currency with the new one.

"The money seized was the commission of K Sudheer Babu, as he kept it aside as his share, out of Rs.3.75 crore, which he misappropriated by fraudulently exchanging old currencies for new currencies from the post offices falling under his division. So far CBI had seized Rs 92.68 lakh of new currency in Rs 2000 denomination, in these cases," it said.

Rs 5.7 crore in new notes seized from 'secret bathroom chamber' of hawala dealer in Karnataka

I-T department has seized Rs 5.7 crore in new notes, Rs 90 lakh in old ones and 32 kg in bullion from a hawala dealer in Karnataka
The seizure was made from 'secret bathroom chambers' at the hawal dealer's premises.

BENGALURU: In what could be the second major haul of currency and gold by taxmen in the state after demonetisation+ , the Karnataka and Goa arm of the I-T department has stumbled upon Rs 5.7 crore in new currency kept in a 'secret locker of bathroom' in Hubballi.

A statement from the Panaji Directorate of the Director General of Income-tax (Inv), Karnataka & Goa said search operations were carried on the casino operators and bullion traders in Hubballi and Chitradurga districts of Karnataka on December 9.

"The income-tax teams were present at around 15 premises spread across the states of Karnataka and Goa. One of the hawala operators is also actively involved in converting old notes and was accumulating bullion using old currency," it added.

During the search operations, a secret chamber in the bathroom of the residence of a hawala operator was traced. "28 kg of bullion, about 4 kg of gold and jewellery, Rs 5.7 crore of Rs 2,000 currency notes and Rs 90 lakh in old Rs 100 and Rs 20 notes were seized.

Various incriminating documents have also been recovered and income tax teams are further analyzing and investigating the same. Notably the major haul of new denomination currency is from a relatively small town Challakere in Chitradurga district. This small town with a population of 50,000 is 40 km away from the district headquarters," the statement said.

On December 1, the Income Tax had confiscated over Rs 4.7 crore during searches in a dozen premises in Bengaluru+ and other locations.

Officials said the searches were launched on the premises of two engineers, working with the state government, and some "connected persons".

A team of over 50 I-T sleuths and police personnel launched operations early morning and searched premises in Bengaluru, Chennai and Erode (Tamil Nadu).

During the course of searches Rs 4.7 crore cash in new denominations of Rs 2000 and 0.3 crore in old/smaller denominations totaling Rs 5 crore and 7 kg bullion worth approximately Rs 2 crore were found in a flat owned by a civil contractor.

Tax raids across the country in the last few weeks have resulted in seizure of crores in new and old currency procured in illegal ways.

On Friday afternoon, acting on a tip-off about a cash exchange, police detained a group of seven people near Five Gardens in Dadar. They were found to be in possession of Rs 85 lakh, which included Rs 72 lakh in new Rs 2,000 notes.

400-1000% increase in digital transactions after demonetisation, says government!

Transactions on e-wallets have increased from 17 lakh per day to 63 lakh per day and value of transactions has increased from Rs 52 crore to Rs 191 crore
Volume of transactions using Rupay card has increased from 3.85 lakh per day to 16 lakh per day and value from Rs 39.17 crore to Rs 236 crore

Digital transactions+ have surged in the range of 400-1,000 per cent since November 8 when government announced discontinuation of old Rs 500/1000 notes+ , Law and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Thursday.

"Digital payments have increased in the range of 400 to 1,000 per cent since November 8. This figure does not include transactions done through Master and Visa cards," Prasad said while inauguration a new TV channel and a website to educate people about digital payments.

The minister launched free-to-air channel DigiShala which will be available on Doordarshan's DTH platform and 'CashlessIndia' website to educate people about digital transactions.

"The Doorsdarshan platform is being used by over 2 crore people specially in rural India. Indian learn technology with passion and increased digital transactions reflect this. From this, it can be understood how fast digital transactions will grow if we educate people," Prasad said.

He said that transactions on e-wallets have increased from 17 lakh per day to 63 lakh per day and value of transactions has increased from Rs 52 crore to Rs 191 crore.

The minister said that volume of transactions using Rupay card has increased from 3.85 lakh per day to 16 lakh per day and value from Rs 39.17 crore to Rs 236 crore, UPI transactions volume up from 3721 per day to 48,000 per day and value Rs 1.93 crore to Rs 15 crore.

"With digital transactions money will come into system, it will be accountable, generate tax and develop country's economy. When money will come in to bank then government will be able to come up with better welfare schemes," he said.

He said that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was asking how much black money is involved in terror funding, the reply was about Rs 400 crore.

"The issue is not that Rs 400 crore is involved in terror funding. If a terrorist uses just Rs 5 crore for an attack in place like Mumbai then the damage will be of over Rs 1000 crore," Prasad said.

Jayalalithaa's 10,500 saris, 750 slippers stored in civil court room!

Of the seized assets, 10,500 saris, 750 pairs of slippers and 500 wine glasses are in a room on the first floor of the city civil court. As the assets have to be guarded round the clock, four policemen are on duty in shifts. The income tax department handed the assets to the government in 2002 when the case was transferred from Tamil Nadu to Karnataka.

Armed reserve force police said they don't know what's in the room. The assets, kept in the treasury, includes 21.28kg of gold jewellery worth Rs 3.5 crore, 1,250kg of silver articles worth Rs 3.12 crore, diamonds worth Rs 2 crore and a silver sword "We can decide on them only after the SC gives its judgment," said Ponnanna.

After politician subramanian swamy filed a complaint in 1996, the case was transferred to Karnataka on jayalalitha's request as she feared she would not get a fair trial in TN under the DMK rule. A special court convicted her along with other accused and she was imprisoned in September 2014. The Karnataka high court overturned the trial court order in May 2015. The Karnataka government appealed to the supreme court
and the judgment is now pending.
